Diamond Trust Bank Strengthens Community Impact with #AchieveMoreGirls Campaign
Dodoma, 2025 - Building on the success of last year’s Namthamini Campaign in Zanzibar, Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania Plc (DTBT) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to community empowerment and sustainable development through the #AchieveMoreGirls campaign, conducted in partnership with the Action Girls Foundation (AGF) in Mpwapwa District, Dodoma.
This year’s initiative focused on improving menstrual health, promoting financial literacy and reducing barriers to education for young girls from underprivileged backgrounds. Through the campaign, DTB distributed 9,000 disposable sanitary towels to over 600 girls across Chunyu, Mazae and Vinghawe Secondary Schools.
In addition to the sanitary pad distribution, the bank organized interactive educational sessions covering menstrual hygiene, nutrition, mental well-being and basic financial literacy. These sessions were designed to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to manage their health, make informed life choices, and develop a foundation for financial independence.
By addressing challenges that often lead to absenteeism and school dropouts, the initiative empowers girls to remain in school, pursue their goals and contribute to the long-term socio-economic growth of their communities.
Speaking during the event, Ms. Lilian Kawa (Head of Compliance & CFC) highlighted the bank’s continued investment in sustainable social programs:
“At DTB, we believe in empowering communities through holistic interventions that promote education, health and financial inclusion. Initiatives like #AchieveMoreGirls and #Namthamini reflect our long-term commitment to nurturing confident, capable and financially aware young women across Tanzania.”
Through its broader Citizenship Strategy, DTB continues to drive initiatives that advance sustainability, empowerment and financial inclusion, while meaningfully contributing to Tanzania’s social and economic progress.
