Mr. Linus Gitahi
Chairman
Linus Gitahi, MBS, Joined the DTB-Tanzania Board of Directors in August 2023.
Linus is a business leader with professional experience spanning different sectors within the continent. He is currently the Chairman of Tropical Brands (Africa) Limited and Oxygen Communication Limited.
He is also a director of Simba Corp, Outspan Hospital and Medical College, Jubilee Allianz Insurance (K) Limited, and the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM). Linus has previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Media Group and Group Chief Executive Officer for GlaxoSmithKline in West Africa, after having held diverse management positions with them. In Tanzania, he has served as a director of Mwananchi Communications Ltd and Chairman of Zenufa Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Shaffiq Dharamshi
Vice Chairman
Mr. Dharamshi was appointed to the board in April 2015. He is a professional banker with over twenty years of senior management experience in the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Dharamshi is the Head of Banking for the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), and responsible for providing oversight on operations of financial institutions in the AKFED portfolio across Asia and Africa. He also services as a director on the boards of DTB Uganda and DTB Kenya, Habib Bank Limited, Pakistan, Kyrgyz Investment and Credit Bank, Kyrgyzstan, Frist Microfinance Bank, Tajikistan, and DCB Bank, India. Prior to taking this position with AKFED, he was Senior Vice President, wholesale credit risk management at Mashreq Bank in Dubai. Before joining Mashreq Bank, Mr. Dharamshi spent 17 years with Citibank in a wide range of positions across different areas of the bank in Africa and the Middle East. Mr. Dharamshi holds an MSc. in Economics / Information Systems from the London School of Economics. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (Kenya). Mr. Dharamshi was appointed as the DTB Tanzania board Vice Chairman on 14th June 2019 after serving on the board for four years. Mr. Dharamshi is aged fifty-five years.
Nasim Devji
Director
Mrs. Devji joined the DTB Group in 1996 following which she was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Trust Bank in East Africa in 2001. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Bankers, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (Kenya) and an Associate of the Institute of Taxation (United Kingdom). Mrs. Devji is a director of DTB Tanzania. DTB Uganda. DTB Burundi, Jubilee Insurance Burundi, Diamond Trust Insurance Agency Limited and the Nairobi Securities Exchange Limited. She has also previously served as a member of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation. Mrs. Devji is aged sixty-six years.
Xavier Lucas

Mr. Xavier Lucas was appointed to the DTB Tanzania board as a Director on 12th December 2017. Mr. Lucas is a finance professional with over twenty-two years of experience and a strong background in audit and finance. He has worked with Ernst & Young as an auditor for seven years in France and Japan, Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) for six years under various roles and for five years as Chief Financial Officer of a state company in Dubai. Currently, Mr. Lucas has been working with AKFED as a consultant in banking services since September 2016. Mr. Lucas is aged forty-nine.
Mrs. Zulobia Dhala
Director
Mrs. Zulobia Dhala was appointed to the DTB Tanzania board as a Director on the 16th December 2018. Mrs. Dhala is a prominent business woman in Tanzania with extensive experience in logistics and warehousing. Mrs. Dhala holds a Masters' Degree in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies and Bachelor of Science in Economics, both from the London School of Economics (LSE).Mrs. Dhala is a prominent member of the Rotary Club of Bahari Dar-es-Salaam where she has served as a President of the Club for two years and is at present an Assistant Governor for the Rotary District 2011. Mrs. Dhala is aged sixty one.
Muzaffer Khawaja

Mr. Muzaffer Khawaja was appointed to the DTB-Tanzania Board of Directors on the 12th June 2020. He is an experienced Banker with over 33 years of experience in banking in Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa and the United States of America.
Mr. Khawaja served in the role of Chief Operating Officer for Citibank and ABN-AMRO Bank in Greece, Pakistan and the UAE. He has also held directorial positions in Citicorp Investment Bank Ltd. Pakistan, ABN-AMRO Securities Greece, ABN-AMRO Insurance Greece, ABN-AMRO Asset Management Services Greece, ANN-AMRO Investment Bank Greece and ABN-AMRO Services Company Dubai.
Mr. Khawaja was also the founder CEO of Acumen Consulting which he founded and managed from 2007 till 2015 in Dubai. Acumen Consulting provided advisory and training services to banks in the UAE and other Gulf countries on developing and upgrading banking processes, including Risk and Compliance, Human Resource and business development.
Mr. Khawaja studied at the London School of Economics and University of Karachi and holds two Masters of Science Degrees in Economics and Applied Economics.

Uday Bhasin
Director
Mr. Uday Bhasin was appointed to the DTB Tanzania Board of Directors on the 12th June 2020. He is an experienced Finance and Investment professional in the fields of Corporate Finance, Business Strategy Development and Investment in UK, Africa, India and UAE.
Mr. Bhasin served as Chief Investment and Finance Officer at Sharjah Holding, a respected business house in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Mr. Bhasin also served as an Executive Director for a private investment company - Dubai Group with multibillion Dollar Portfolio of listed and unlisted assets across the globe. Uday was also the Director, Advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers, London (PwC) for 10 years.
Mr. Bhasin is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and holds the Corporate Finance qualification from the same establishment. He also holds a degree in Economics from the University of Manchester, UK.
Mr. Bhasin is aged 49 years.
Hussein Jamal
Director
Hussein Jamal joined the DTB-Tanzania Board of Directors in August 2023 Hussein is the Managing Director for Kansai Plascon Tanzania Limited (KPTL), a leading paint manufacturer in Tanzania. Hussein has been at the helm of Tanzania paint manufacturing industry for 12 years.
He joined Sadolin Paints (T) Limited in September 2010 in the capacity of National Sales Manager. When KPTL bought Sadolin in 2017, Hussein remained with the new company and was quickly promoted to General Manager, before becoming the MD in 2019. Hussein is highly accredited for the smooth transition when Sadolin Paints Tanzania Limited was acquired by Kansai Plascon Tanzania Limited in 2017.
Hussein holds Bachelor of Commerce [2004] from University of Victoria, Victoria, British Columbia and MBA [2010] with major in Finance from Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Ontario – Canada.
He is also a member of the YPO Tanzania chapter.
Hanif Habib
Director
Mr. Hanif Habib joined the DTB-Tanzania board of directors in January 2024.
Mr. Habib is a businessman and a consultant in the fields of auditing and assurance, taxation, company law and accounting. His practice spans across the private sector and not-for-profit organizations in Tanzania.
Mr. Habib holds a Master of Science (Professional Accountancy) Degree from the University of London (MSc) and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Applied Accounting from the Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom. Mr. Habib is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA); a Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice (CPA, T); a Chartered Accountant (UAECA) from the Accountants and Auditors Association of United Arab Emirates; and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA®) from the Institute of Internal Auditors, USA.
Mr. Habib also sits as an Independent Board member at CMC Automobiles Ltd, Tanzania.
