Appointment of Mr. Ravneet Chowdhury As New CEO Of Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania Limited

The Board of Directors of Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ravneet Chowdhury as the new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Chowdhury takes over from Mr. Viju Cherian who has retired.

Mr. Chowdhury is an experienced leader with wide geographical experience. He joins the Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania family with over three decades of banking knowledge and global exposure in executive roles covering Investment Banking, Treasury, Corporate Finance and Country Management. He has worked in Asia, Middle East and Africa.

His banking career began in 1987 with American Express where he joined as a manager in Treasury sales before climbing the ladder to Manager Capital Markets. Mr. Chowdhury served in the roles of Country Head of Financial Markets, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer in Standard Chartered Bank in various locations with the last assignment in Oman. He was also the Chief Executive Officer for Bank One Limited in Mauritius for seven years.

Mr. Chowdhury is credited with being one of the founder members of Oman Bankers Association during his tenure with Standard Chartered Bank. By deploying his prior experience, Mr. Chowdhury worked with CEOs of other banks and steered the team in developing rules and modalities that led to the formation of the Association.

Mr. Ravneet Chowdhury is a fellow Chartered Accountant. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Henley Management College and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM) from the University of Delhi. Mr. Chowdhury is a family man and a proud father of three children.
