Manager - Performance & Strategy

To analyse key financial performance ratio trends, providing more insights from business activities and recommend appropriate course of actions.

  1. Management Reporting:
    • Prepare periodical (Daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) business reports.
    • Perform Revenue assurance for all products daily and monthly for both interest income and expenses.
    • Prepare business, segment, and product reports as per business requirements.
    • Coordinate and consolidate business weekly reports, supporting the business teams.
    • Monitor strategy initiative implementation by providing data in comparison with the budget.
    • Conduct in-depth data analysis using statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends and anomalies.
    • Develop predictive models, statistical models, and machine learning algorithms for business insights.
    • Create data visualizations and reports that communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to integrate data from multiple sources into a unified dataset.
    • Perform ad-hoc analyses for specific business questions and provide quick insights when necessary.
    • Collaborate with various departments to align analytics efforts with business objectives and provide data-driven recommendations.
    • Support the business team and finance in preparing the monthly performance pack by providing data analytics on products, processes, transactions, etc.
  2. MI & Impairment Management:
    • Review and validate LGD, PD, and EAD models before being used for ECLS calculations on the retail book.
    • Run Transfer Rates to validate PD12 or lifetime PDs before ECLS calculations.
    • Analyze the credit portfolio focusing on NPL, impairment loss, credit concentration levels, and sector performance.
    • Responsible for Data Quality Management related to Credit Reference Data Lake compliance.
    • Solely responsible for analytics reports for decision-making, including LLR, Vintage Analysis, and Rolling Rates.
    • Collaborate with various departments to develop strategies for monitoring credit exposure and identifying risks.
    • Provide expert guidance during credit portfolio audits, including regulatory, risk, and financial statement audits.
    • Monitor post-project implementations and provide advice on improving performance, reporting status to management and the Board.
    • Perform industrial analytics on key operational efficiency and advise management on areas of improvement.
  3. Board Reporting:
    • Support departments in preparing quarterly board reports as per the annual board calendar.
    • Update the bank scorecard quarterly for strategy tracking.
  4. Planning and Budgeting:
    • Provide analytical data to support the budget preparation in line with the Bank’s strategy.
    • Provide data analytics to support strategy implementation monthly for management reviews.
    • Support stakeholders quarterly in preparing performance reports and strategy tracking.
    • Ensure budgetary control processes are in place during business operations and decision-making.
  5. Strategic Cost Management:
    • Analyze variances between actual vs. budget and identify causes of variance.
    • Ensure the cost budget is well articulated and supports business decisions.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the line manager.
  • University Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Statistics, Science, or a business-related field.
  • Advanced coding skills in SAS and SQL.
  • Experience with analytical software, programming, and usage of SAS and Python.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial market skills.
  • Competency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail and good time management.
  • Good presentation skills, positive attitude, flexibility, and dependability.
  • Trustworthy and high levels of integrity.
  • At least 5 years of banking experience, with at least 2 years in a senior managerial position.
  • A structured approach to dealing with complex work environments independently.
  • Ability to balance long-term and short-term requirements independently.
  • Strong financial analytical skills and good reporting capabilities.
  • Independent and logical thinker, yet an achiever and implementer.
  • Leads by example.
  • Effective in managing large volumes of information for management reporting.
  • Requires prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
