Achievement through Diligence: Straight Through Processing (STP) Award issued by Standard Chartered Bank

Straight-Through-Processing (STP) Award

DTB-Tanzania was recently awarded - Excellent STP Rating - by Citibank NY on USD payments in the year 2020

Citibank NY annually evaluates and presents Straight-Through-Processing (STP) Awards to select banks with the highest ratings on efficiency in processing Telegraphic Transfers.

Last year, DTB-Tanzania recorded some of the highest prescribed ratings amongst the member banks.

Below are the key parameters and ratings recorded by DTB-Tanzania -:

  • Settling customer/ commercial payments through Citibank NY– 95%
  • Settling Treasury payments through Citibank NY– 97%

DTB Tanzania won the award for "The Best Risk Management Corporate of the year 2017" amongst commercial banks with assets exceeding TZS1 Trillion. The award was given by IRMT, following a survey conducted last year by IRMT that featured forty-three commercial banks in Tanzania, all placed in three categories depending on the size of the respective balance sheets.

DTB Tanzania emerged in the top position amongst large banks with a balance sheet size of more than TZS 1 Trillion. Citi Bank was rated the best in the medium-sized category with a balance sheet ranging between TZS 500 Billion and TZS 1 Trillion. Habib Africa Bank was the winner in the small bank category.

The survey was based on balance sheet size, capital adequacy, liquidity, NPL performance, independent risk management function, consistency in growth over  three years in terms of Profit Before Tax (PBT), cost & income management, Return on Equity (RoE) and Return on Asset (RoA)."
